Hello all, and a happy new year! Down at SSC, we kicked January off to a fantastic start with the annual New Year’s Day Swim. Many of our members took to the water and along with activities in the clubhouse and sponsorship, several hundred pounds were raised for the First Responders. This Monday (29th) and Tuesday (30th), we are pleased to welcome Tony, from the First Responders, to the clubhouse for defibrillator training; a defibrillator was installed in the harbour in December. Around 4...

It has been another busy week at SSC. On the rowing front, erg sessions are going well and Wisemans are pleased to have inspired a visiting member from Aberporth to look at running sessions back at home. In addition to rowing this week, we have been counting sweets into bags of ten ready for the trick or treat trail this Friday. Despite the strict instructions “DO NOT EAT”, many rowers were seen with sweets ‘falling’ into their mouths, and some clearly can't count, as...

Sunday 15th October 2017 | Race Report Sunday 15th October 2017 | |
The Frostbite series continued this week with nine boats taking to the water for the next two races of the series. In the mild, cloudy conditions with a moderate breeze belying the fact that Storm Ophelia was offshore somewhere, James H with the help of lovely wife Katie set the course and entered the start sequence as the last boats made their leisurely way out of the harbour.
The start was hotly contested by Simon in the Contender and Ed in his RS100 with Jenny in the Laser in close pursuit. ...

There will be much huffing and puffing as once again, the ergs are dusted off for the winter rowing sessions. Erg sessions run every Tuesday and Thursday evenings with juniors on a Friday. C...
